Minor Repairs, Major Community

Services are no cost, by appointment only

Welcome to the Beacon Bike Garage

Beacon Bike Garage is a networked community resource for minor bike repairs and bike information in Seattle, Washington.

The Beacon Bike Garage is an expression of my passion for everyday bicycling and vibrant communities.

In the garage you will find:

  • Tools

  • A work bench

  • Repair stand

  • Fasteners

  • Cleaning supplies

The Beacon Bike Garage is not a traditional “bike shop”. We are a community resource focused on sharing expertise with bicyclists new and old, providing minor repairs, and getting your bike ready for the road.

I focus on acoustic (non-electric) bikes; but I can do mechanical aspects of E-bikes such as brakes with cables. If your repair is beyond my scope, or you need replacement parts, I’ll connect you with community bike shops that match your needs.

I do not provide bike storage and I am not responsible for any losses, damage or injuries.

Information about bike services and my approach is below. Follow @beaconbikegarage on Instagram for news and updates.

Services are no cost, donations optional

Our Services

What Jon has created with the Beacon Bike Garage is a community treasure. When my bike needed a tune-up and some adjustments, I made an appointment and my bike and I are all the better for it. Jon did the tune-up, we chatted about life and community, and me and my bike rolled out joyously. What a service! Our community is stronger and healthier with Jon and the Beacon Bike Garage.”

Our Values

“The Beacon Bike Garage is a gift to our community! Jon’s passion for bikes, his generosity, patience and authenticity are so very appreciated. He’s kind and approachable and just wants to help us all enjoy life and riding - whether we’re super cyclists or just ride on occasion, like me and my family. Check out the Beacon Bike Garage!”

“Jon’s support was exactly what I needed to get my bike back in good shape after a frustrating series of needed repairs! I am stubborn about wanting to do repairs myself and learn along the way, and Jon provided the space, tools, and guidance to help me learn and get everything done. He was encouraging and hands-off for the parts I felt confident about, and available for hands-on help when I needed it. It was valuable to have someone to check my work and answer a million questions so I could make sure my bike was safe and ready to ride. I really appreciate Jon creating such kind and generous resource in our neighborhood!”
